The TEEN SPRING FOUNDATIONS Spring Break Camp 2024 is a blend of PEERS social skills training, group activities, and community outings that involve functional life-skills to build confidence, autonomy, strengthen communication, and friendship making skills.
Group sessions allow for increased opportunity to practice communication strategies, social skills, and community exploration in real-life situations that support peer connections in an interactive and fun functional environment.
Kids in Nature is designed to motivate kids to get outside and explore their physical world while sharing new experience with peers, encouraging physical activity and building fine motor, gross motor and social skills through play.
This program is facilitated by our Registered Kinesiologist/ Transdisciplinary Therapist in consultation with our Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists.
PEERS® for Adolescents and Young Adults is an evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teens ages 16-19 who are interested in learning new ways of making and keeping friends. PEERS® may be appropriate for teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression or other social and behavioural disorders.
Parent participation is required.
A screening with our SLP is needed before registration is complete.
Have you noticed your child having troubles with lip, jaw or tongue positions during rest, swallowing or speech? Does your child have persistent S or R errors? There might be an underlying reason those speech errors are persisting!
Our goal with Myofunctional training is to treat things such as:
· Finger sucking and/or pacifier use beyond age 4
· persistent S/R articulation errors
· Open mouth breathing/atypical mouth resting posture
· Difficulty swallowing
· Exercises for pre and post release of tethered oral tissue
The Lively Letters™ Program is a research-based and clinically proven reading program that turns plain, abstract letters and sounds into lively characters.
This multi-sensory approach incorporates physical movement, imagery, music, and mnemonic stories to engage your child when learning letter and sound associations in order for them have a good grip on the fundamentals that are necessary for reading and writing.
Babies need to have good posture to ensure their bones, muscles,
and joints develop in the right way. If the alignment of bones is not right, the muscles may try to overcompensate, leading to a lack of proper balance and
coordination. Proper posture is also important for the development of fine and gross motor skills.
This program is led by our Kinesiologist in consultation with our Occupational Therapist regarding your preemies' posture and development.
